New co-owners of LUX GARDEN boutique hotel situated in the mountain resort of Azuga (Carpathian mountains - Romania) have recently declared they intend to include the hotel in the prestigious RELAIS CHATEAUX marketing chain of hotels. Oliver Petcu of CPP Management Consultants Ltd doubts that it is highly unlikely for the reputed chain to afflilliate such a modern design property in a mountain resort which only has domestic awareness and which is far beyond the reservices and facilities of Romanias leading mountain resort of Poiana Brasov, which is considered the best mountain destination, with the highest number of 4 and 5 star hotels. Azuga as a resort town has very few services of deluxe level, such as restaurants, clubs or shops.
Mention should also be made that, Relais Chateaux have affilliated few properties in Central and Eastern Europe, with none in the established markets such as like Russia or Czech Republic.
The upgrade of the SPA and featuring of Bvlgari bathroom amenities is highly unlikely to compensate for the need to redesign the rooms, which current furniture and decor are outdated and of four star maximum standard. It will also very much depend on the standard of management owners are willing to impose and invest in.
