HUGO BOSS re-opens in Bucharest with new franchise partner

News      02 June 2009

After having closed early this year in Bucharest, HUGO BOSS signed a franchise agreement for Romania with a new partner, jointly Romanian/Italian ownership. The first Boss store was opened this Spring in the seaside town of Constanta. The new Boss store will open March 2010, also on Calea Victoriei but in a different location and section.
HUGO BOSS had been present in Romania through a franchise agreement for almost 10 years with Interbrands, mass market distribution group owned by the Sarkis family. Poor management and customer service was the reason for the disappointing performance of Boss in Romania for such a long time, especially considering the fact that the German brand has been performing exceptionally well in other Central and Eastern European countries.
