Franco Ferre and Ferragamo in Bucharest

News      08 June 2009

RTC Holding through its Rafar division continues to take the Romanian luxury market by surprise. We have learned by business daily BUSINESS STANDARD that the company plans to invest over EUR 1 million in a multibrand of 100 sqm within the JW Marriott Shopping Gallery to include BALLY, FERRAGAMO, FRANCO FERRE, FRATELLI ROSETTI etc. It seems more of an outlet created from the already closed Bally monobrand shop in Magheru Blv. and the Catwalk multibrand shop on Calea Victoriei. RTC/Rafar purchased the BALLY monobrand franchise from PSF in summer of 2008 (PSF still owns and operates the FURLA franchise in Romania).
RTC also annouced they were interested in franchising monobrand stores of FERRAGAMO and FERRE, two fashion brands with a very sad history on the Romanian market. The latest store selling mostly Ferragamo closed in March this year and the store on Calea Victoriei selling the first line of Ferre closed late 2007.
