In its recent analysis CHALLENGES magazine has annouced the latest ranking of Frances top richest people. The top five ranking, as dominated in 2008 by Gérard Mulliez (Auchan) and his family (15 billion), lost in a year over 20 billion euros. The decrease of fortune has affected almost everyone in this ranking: 95% of them have seen their assets fall by 20 to 45%, notes the weekly. The number of billionaires fell by a quarter to stand at 33. The rest of the podium has not changed: the LVMH boss Bernard Arnault (14.6 billion) and Liliane Bettencourt LOreal cosmetics (10.1 billion) took the second and third places. With a fortune estimated at 7.7 billion euros, the Hermès family wins two-row and took the fourth position, ahead of Robert Louis-Dreyfus (Louis Dreyfus), who died Saturday (7 billion). The best entry is to the credit of the brothers Maurice and Paul Marciano (Guess group), which ranked 45th with a fortune estimated at 618 million euros.
