BVLGARI, CHOPARD and MONTBLANC have a new neighbour in Bucharest - a pancake shop

News      25 June 2009

Bucharest, much like other Eastern European capitals is presenting a challenge to luxury fashion and accessories brands having no dedicated street or area for luxury products. Therefore, brands have chosen compromise locations, unfortunately scattered all over the center of the town, the compromise high streets being Calea Victoriei, Calea Dorobantilor and Magheru Boulevard. Most of the existing brands had opened their locations amid the real estate boom at the highest rents and most pitoresque mix of tenants.
This week, Micri Golds boutique one of the major luxury retail players with 2 dedicated shop in shops of BVLGARI & CHOPARD have noticed their new immediate neighbour, a pancake shop CLATE, usually present in mass market malls. Next to Clate is the monobrand boutique of MONTBLANC.
This is only proof to the definite shift of Magheru for a mass market traffic, with the remaning luxury brands having no choice but to move to a new location sooner or later. Business wise, this will be pretty difficult since both retailers own their locations.
