Dolce Gabbana could launch Haute Couture in 2013

After the launch of its fine jewellery line in 2011, Italian luxury house of Dolce Gabbana is currently testing couture technique in-house, for an haute couture project which could be launched next year – according to Italian media. Dolce Gabbana’s emphasis on a top luxury positioning started two years ago when the company announced it would discontinue its second line, the lower priced D&G and focus on its first line, which is entirely made in Italy.

During yesterday’s Gala at the Met with the occasion of the inauguration of the Schiapparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition, several celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson and Bianca Brandolini wore exquisit Dolce Gabbana evening gowns, most realized with couture techniques.
