Dior reports 28 percent increase in sales for second quarter

French luxury couture and pret-a-porter house Christian Dior reports a 28% increase in its sales for the second quarter of 2012, reaching a total of 323 million euros mostly due to growth in retail. “Retail sales have been very strong and show a 36% growth compared to the same period in 2011,” the company said in a statement.

The group released its results after those of the global luxury goods giant LVMH, it controls. LVMH announced a 28% increase in its net profit for the first half of 2012 and a 26% growth in sales accross the entire group.
