Czech and Hungarian brands join French luxury organization Comite Colbert
Hungary’s luxury porcelaine maker HEREND and Czech Republic’s glass maker MOSER are among the first international brands to join French luxury organization Le Comite Colbert which already includes the majority of French luxury brands. German writing instruments and accessories specialist MONTBLANC also joined the French body.
The decision of Le Comite Colbert to include members from outside France is mainly based on the principles of the European Union, thus reinforcing its already powerful lobbying and promotional activities locally and internationally.
World’s largest porcelain manufactory, HEREND is celebrating the 185th anniversary of its foundation and the 160th anniversary of its most renowned decorative pattern. The classic, timeless, Chinese-inspired pattern was created for the first World Fair, held in London in 1851, where it caught the attention of Queen Victoria, who then ordered pieces adorned with the pattern. It was named after her, and has preserved this name for the past 160 years.
