Corneliani and Santoni expand in China
Italian luxury menswear house Corneliani is opening in November its major flagship store in China, in the metropolis of Shanghai. Corneliani’s 45th store in China will be the first one operated directly, other major flagships operated directly being in Milan, Florence, Porto Cervo and London. China already represents 15% of Corneliani’s turnover, hence the crucial importance of the market.
Luxury shoemaker Santoni opened last week its sixth mono-brand store in China, all stores being operated with a local partner. Santoni’s stores in China are the largest mono-brand stores of the brand, averaging 120 sqm. Santoni has recently confirmed plans to expand to other cities in China. In 2011, Santoni’s turnover increased by 25% reaching 52 million euros.
