CHANEL to inaugurate this Fall new operations site outside Paris
French luxury maison Chanel will inaugurate this Fall its new operations site in Pantin, 6 km from Paris. The new facility will accommodate R&D operations of its beauty products business as well as other crafts such as manufacturing of hats (Maison Michel). Chanel’s new facility in Pantin will likely employ between 350 and 500 employees.
With this new investment, Chanel aims to optimize its manufacturing capacities to make up for demand as well as provide improved working conditions for its employees. Chanel’s subsidiary company Paraffection now includes the Lesage and Montex embroiderers, the shoemaker Massaro, the parurier Desrues, the plumassier Lemarie, hatter Maison Michel, the silversmith Goossens and floral parurier Guillet.
Concidentally or not, Chanel‘s new site in Pantin is adjacent to Bourjois, the mass market beauty company which is also owned by the Wertheimer family (Wertheimer family private owns Chanel).
