Cartier unveils spectacular high-jewelry watches at 2014 SIHH
French jeweller Cartier has unveiled a spectacular new collection of high-jewelry watch collection at this year’s SIHH in Geneva L’Heure Envoûtée de Cartier. Like in a fairy tale, the majestically abstract stones come to life in the shadows and are transformed. Cartier’s new collection was born of an encounter between two areas of Cartier expertise: the treasure of its rare stones and the vitality of its flamboyant menagerie.
Some of the highlights include inspirations from the Art Deco period with a rose-cut diamond, the cuff bracelet in natural pearls and brilliant-cut diamonds. Beneath the secret gear trains of invisible mechanisms, beneath the diamond or in the bird’s plumage, the hours conceal or reveal themselves.
Besides Cartier’s iconic panther motive, the new L’Heure Envoûtée de Cartier Collection also features two pieces which reflect the silhouettes of a crocodile, a precious reptile in gemstones, to emerge at the heart of a transforming watch. The new watch is at the same time a time piece or a brooch, with an impressive versatility which is at the heart of Cartier’s DNA.
