CARTIER debuts new Astrotourbillon at 2015 SIHH
Entirely laid bare, the new Astrotourbillon has been fully re-designed to highlight the structure of the movement, which disappears behind the imposing XII and VI on the dial – both of which are signature Cartier designs. The Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon Skeleton watch accomplishes two feats: reducing the movement to an almost sculptural form and multiplying the total rotations of the spectacular complication
Specifics of the new CARTIER watch include: 45 mm Manufacture self-winding mechanical movement, caliber 9406 MC, certified “Poinçon de Gèneve” Platinum 950‰ case, beaded platinum 950‰ crown set with a blue sapphire cabochon, brass sunray-brushed dial, blued-steel apple-shaped, baton or hammer-shaped hands.
The new Cartier watch includes a Black alligator skin strap, double adjustable folding 18K white gold buckle. Minute repeater, flying tourbillon, perpetual calendar, skeleton complication.
The movement consists of 578 parts including 47 jewels. Movement diameter: 39.3 mm, movement thickness: 5.49 mm (6.72 mm with tourbillon), balance: 21,600 vibrations/hour, power reserve approx. 50 hours. Sapphire crystal and case back. Case thickness: 12.57 mm. Water-resistant to 3 bar (approx. 30 meters).
