Burgenstock Resort to include 3 hotels when it reopens 2017

Burgenstock, the luxury resort hotel established in 1873 in Lucerne (Switzerland) hosted numerous personalities who visited to enjoy the miraculous hideaway and to marvel at the technical wonders of the funicular railway and the Hammetschwand, Europe’s largest outdoor lift.

Currently owned and developed by  Qatar’s Katara Hospitality, who are also presently renovating the Royal Savoy Hotel in Lausanne, The Burgenstock Lake Resort is scheduled to re-open in 2017 encompassing three hotels: The Burgenstock Hotel, The Palace Hotel and The Waldhotel - a medical wellness resort. The complex will feature an expansive luxury Spa, a conference center, luxury residences, and several dining outlets.

Under the new development plans, the public spaces feature a blend of classic and modern furnishings and finishes which include an array of materials such as marble, polished stone and wood. Floor to ceiling windows will provide exceptional panoramic views and most rooms will include a fireplace.

The Burgenstock Lake Resort Hotel sits on on the edge of the slopes overlooking Lake Lucerne at an altitude of 1,600 feet, with easy access to the Burgenstock Railway that runs along side the hotel, connected by a terrace.
