Burberry goes back in time: from social media to in-store events
Hosted by British actor Harry Treadaway, Burberry organized this week an invitation-only English breakfast for a round table of VIP clients brand in its men’s flagship store on Knightsbridge in London. One of the highlights of the exclusive event was the Tailoring service provided by the store. Among the attendees: Tinie Tempah, Harry Treadaway, Paula Reed and Natalie Massenet. From sophisticated apps addressing millions of Facebook fans and aspiring consumers, in store and online live streamings of catwalk shows, Burberry seems to have embarked on an ample marketing strategy to upgrade from affordable/ democratic luxury (some consider premium) to luxury, with a focus on personal interaction, craftsmanship, higher quality raw materials, tailoring etc.
