Burberry and Brunello Cucinelli are among the latest internatioal luxury brands to open new stores in Seoul, South Korea. Situated on Chungdam Dong Gangnam-Ku, Seoul’s leading luxury high-street which houses many other luxury brands (Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbbana, Prada etc), the two new stores are scheduled to open by Summer. Burberry will front a prominent corner location on 5 floors, including all its products categories, while the Brunello Cucinelli store will cover 3 floors.
The new openings come with unease, given the slower growth in sales registered in luxury goods sales in South Korea in 2013, with the possible worsening of the situation also due to the steep decline in wealthy Chinese shoppers.
