BRIONI makes a bold statement with an ultra luxury women’s collection
Italian maison BRIONI, mostly known for its top luxury menswear has been proposing a women’s line since 5 years ago. Recently, the creative direction of the women’s line was taken over by Alessandro Dell Aqua who presented last week the Fall Winter 2011 collection of the brand. Critics have unanimously labelled the collection as the most luxurious of the entire Milan Fashion Week, the designer using very expensive materials such as crocodile leather, python leather, fur and cashmere.
Unlike the continued success of the men’s line, the Brioni women’s label has had a rather slow development, mostly due to a lack of appropriate positioning as well a lack of creative direction. Now, with Dell Acqua, the brand has made a powerful statement further developing the line. The collection clearly targets an elderly women’s segment, sophisticated and powerful at the same time.
