Bottega Veneta opens its largest flagship store in China
Bottega Veneta opened its fourth Shanghai store last week, its biggest yet in China, where it already has 21 stores. This store is situated in Bund, the famous and historic quarter of Shanghai, within the Yifeng Galleria shopping center, a building dating back to the turn of the last century which has just undergone renovations and which houses other fashion and luxury brands.
Covering an area of 530 square meters, the retail space is spread over 2 floors. The first level hosts a wide range of the brand’s products: handbags, luggage, men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, as well as footwear, small leather goods, eyewear and a selection of products for the home.
The second floor, which is entirely dedicated to art, will house exhibitions all year long. Spread over 2300 square feet, works by young Chinese artists will be presented in non-commercial exhibitions which will cover a range of themes and various different artistic forms, under the supervision of Chinese art expert Gu Sheng. It’s the brand’s very first boutique to have a space entirely dedicated to art. The project represents a first, developed especially for Shanghai but which will soon be exported in other forms to Milan, amongst other places.
