Baccarat Hotel & Residences opens in New York
Starwood Capital Group has announced the debut of the new Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York, the first hotel and global flagship for the Baccarat crystal brand. Designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the hotel occupies the first 12 floors of the 550-foot split-level and houses 114 rooms and suites. New York-based designer Tony Ingrao led the residential design of the tower’s 60 private residences, which will have access to all hotel amenities. Drawing upon Baccarat’s classic French aesthetic, Paris-based interior design firm Gilles & Boissier conceptualized the hotel interiors. True to the Baccarat brand, a 125-foot wide corrugated crystal-like curtain veils the hotel’s lower levels.
The hotel features a 50-foot indoor pool, an elite fitness training facility, and the first Spa de La Mer in the U.S. Guests and residents can choose from multiple dining options, such as Chevalier—a French restaurant headed by Michelin-starred executive chef Shea Gallante—or the Bar at Baccarat, which features barrel-vaulted ceilings, a 60-foot bar, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
