Azzedine Alaia to open in London its first international store

Azzedine Alaia will open in London its first store outside France. The new store  will span over 6,000 square feet in the city’s Mayfair neighborhood on New Bond Street. The neighborhood will also see the opening of Moncler, and Thom Browne stores in the coming months, and a Chloé store will open down the street from Alaïa later this summer.

The designer had his first renaissance in the late ’80s and early ’90s when his figure- hugging dresses became an overnight sensation among fashion industry insiders, earning him the nickname ‘King of Cling.’ Following the death of his sister in the mid-nineties he took a prolonged hiatus from his work, making a come-back in 2000.

The new store will  be located at 139 New Bond Street.
