Audemars Piguet launches at 2014 SIHH Geneva
Audemars Piguet presented at 2014 SIHH Geneva an all new white ceramic, a concept watch, the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon 42 mm. The 2014 version of the Royal Oak Concept (the fifth such Royal Oak Concept) features a 44mm titanium case with white ceramic for the bezel, crown, pusher, and hourglass-shaped structure on the movement. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept was first unveiled in 2002 as an avant-garde tribute towards the now legendary Royal Oak watch designed by Gerald Genta 30 years prior.
The caliber is the new Audemars Piguet caliber 2930 hand-wound with 10 day power reserve via a double-barrel configuration and runs at 3Hz/21,600vph; more interesting is its function selector integrated with the crown: wind, set or neutral. Its dazzling, hourglass-shaped bridge is further enlivened by the double symmetry of the tourbillon bridges and GMT display.
