Apple aims for Swiss Made seal for its new iWatch

According to Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung, Apple has been actively seeking to recruit Swiss luxury watch professionals, ahead of its anticipated launch of the iWatch. LVMH‘s Head of Watches Division Jean Claude Biver is quoted  “Apple got in contact with several Swiss manufacturers. Apple tries to place orders with the Swiss watch supplier industry. One I know personally”; “Apple has contacted some of my employees, I saw these emails personally. But none of my employees has left Hublot”.

Apple also approached Hublot to get its Magic Gold, its scratch-resistant alloy for the production of the new iPhone 5S but apparently, Hublot refused to collaborate.

The Swatch Group confirms that the Group has been in contact with almost all the smartphone producers through the companies EM Microelectronics and Renata.
