Abu Dhabi Tourism targets 2.5 million guests for 2013

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi (the largest waterpark in the UAE), new luxury hotel openings (Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, and the Rosewood Abu Dhabi, both firsts for the brands here, as well as the St Regis Abu Dhabi) and better connections to Asia and Africa by Etihad - are the main reasons behin Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority‘s ambitious 2013 plans.

Sports events are likely to play an important part too – PGA European-Tour-backed Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship (held earlier this year), the F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and World Rally Championship (a three year partnership between Citroën Racing and TCA Abu Dhabi).

HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism confirmed in an interview earlier this week that the Louvre Museum Abu Dhabi is due to open 2015, while the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is due to open 2017.
